Sharif, Zardari likely to meet in London

Islamabad, Jul 4 (UNI) Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chief Asif Ali Zardari is likely to meet Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif in London to remove 'misunderstandings' between the two major partners of the coalition government.

''The co-chairman has reached Dubai and will proceed to London in a day or two. He is likely to meet Mr Sharif to resolve the 'reported' differences between the two partners to ensure smooth functioning of the coalition government at the Centre and in Punjab,'' Daily Times today said, quoting PPP sources.

Prior to his departure for London yesterday, Mr Sharif expressed his reservations over the ongoing security operation in tribal regions, saying his party was not taken into confidence over either of it, or the recent price rise of petroleum and gas.

The NWFP government launched a security operation in the Khyber Agency last week to check militancy from gaining a foothold in Peshawar.

During their meeting, the two leaders are also likely to discuss the issues of the reinstatement of the sacked judges and the impeachment of President Pervez Musharraf.

Ministers of the PML-N quit the federal cabinet on May 13 after the government failed to meet the deadline of May 12 set for the reinstatement of the sacked judges. They said they would not rejoin the cabinet until the judges’ are reinstated.
