Rosa hopes to sign more exciting roles in Bollywood

New Delhi, Aug 28 (UNI) It was her liaison with actor Saif Ali Khan that brought her to India four years back.

The relationship may have come to an end, but Rosa Catalano's fascination for the country and its culture continues.

For a change, it is India's spiritual ethos and her stint with tinsel town of Bollywood that makes this Italian beauty keep coming back to India again and again.

After doing an item number in the recently-released 'Shaurya', Rosa seems to have become a favourite of Bollywood filmmakers for such appearances.

Rosa is all set to appear in an item song in Dharmendra home production Vijayata film's latest film 'Chamku', which releases this Friday.

It was an opportunity to work under a prestigious banner like Vijayata films that made this Italian beauty take on the offer to do an item number in the film, which features Bobby Deol and former beauty queen Priyanka Chopra in lead roles.

Besides 'Chamku', Rosa is also doing an item song in another film 'Deshdrohi', which features actor-director Kamaal Khan in the male lead and actress Gracy Singh (of 'Lagaan' fame) in the female lead.

''I am doing this item song 'Bewajah' in Deshdrohi,'' she says.

Though initially reluctant to do the song, Rosa eventually agreed to do it, as she liked its lyrics.

''When I first heard the song, which has been sung by Sukhwinder Singh, I wondered what I would be doing in it. But when I heard the lyrics, I loved it. Also, since Saroj Khan was choreographing the song, I felt comfortable doing it,'' she says.

For Rosa, the experience of doing item songs in Bollywood has been a thrilling one.

''I have done three item numbers and enjoyed them since I look to dance with passion,'' she said.

Adjustments in life in India have been tough, especially post her break up with Saif. However, it is the spiritual ethos embedded in the Indian culture that has kept her going.

''I have been here for the last four years. Adjustment in life here has taken a lot. However, there is a spiritual path that draws people to India and that has also kept me going on. For example, during my stay here, I have learnt to be patient and to accept,'' she says.

Notwithstanding the upheavals in her life, she still believes in the spirit of love.

''I still believe that love is the most powerful emotion on earth. It is also a wonderful feeling,'' Rosa observed.

Also, life for her has not come to a standstill post her relation with Saif.

''I believe that life never stops. It just puts you on a different keel. More and more I am trying to believe people who say that the reason for which I came to India is different than what I think. For example, what brought me to India was my relationship.

Before that, I did not know anything about Bollywood.

After the affair ended, my whole vision changed. I went back and later came back to India. And now, I want to act. I am learning dance and Hindi. I hope that now filmmakers will sign me for more interesting roles,'' Rosa said.
