About the Play –
A very emotional and relevant story about the elderly people in our family. In today’s fast life, where everyone is competing for livelihood, the elderly people in our family often gets neglected. They maybe our old Father, Mother or Uncle, we often provide them their basic needs which we feel are their needs but tends to forget their actual needs. They need our time, compassion, emotional support along with basic needs. Previously when there were joint families where all the families lived together, there was always someone available to spend time and look after the elderly people in the family. But now in the age of nuclear family, where both husband and wife goes out to work, it is becoming difficult to spend time and look after the elders. The play tells us about such practical situation where a man has to sacrifice a lot to look after his old ailing father.
This is the story of Basanta, a good-at-heart but hot tempered man, who leaves no stones unturned to look after his bedridden ailing father Sarat. He takes personal care in everything involving his father. This involvement lead to problems with his wife as well as in his work due to his irregularities attending his office. His wife Rina, unable to cope with the situation left him with their only child Putul and filed for divorce. Basanta now has to fight against the divorce, look for a job with flexible timings and look after his father. Will he succeed?

Guidelines:
Please submit original, well-written articles on appropriate topics/interviews only. Properly typed and formatted word document (NO PDFs please) using Unicode fonts. For videos and photos, there is a limitation on size, so email directly for bigger files. Along with the article, please send author profile information (in 100-150 words maximum) and a photograph of the author. You can check in the portal for author profile references.
No nudity/obscenity/profanity/personal attacks based on caste, creed or region will be accepted. Politically biased/charged articles, that can incite social unrest will NOT be accepted. Avoid biased or derogatory language. Avoid slang. All content must be created from a neutral point of view.
Limit articles to about 1000-1200 words. Use single spacing after punctuation.
Article title and author information: Include an appropriate and informative title for the article. Specify any particular spelling you use for your name (if any).
Submitting an article gives Banglalive.com/TheSpace.ink the rights to publish and edit, if needed. The editor will review all articles and make required changes for readability and organization style, prior to publication. If significant edits are needed, the editor will send the revised article back to the author for approval. The editorial board will then review and must approve the article before publication. The date an article is published will be determined by the editor.
