Sri Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay, one of the most important authors to write in the Bengali language, unlike his peers, wrote about nature, innocence and the inner self. The family of Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay has arranged a series of online sessions commemorating the author’s 126th birthday, starting 12th September, Saturday. These will be live-streamed everyday at 8 pm (IST) in a page (facebook.com/unknownbibhutibhushan) administered by the writer’s family.
This online event has been planned given the current Covid-19 situation which has made physical events impossible. It also giving a push a long-needed plan of digitisation and dissemination of information related to the author for the benefit of readers and researchers.
Schedule :
12th September : The author’s family will present a series of images and photographs, recounting Bibhutibhushan’s life through them.
13th September : A speed-translation project of Adarsha Hindu Hotel will be announced and discussed by the group of eminent translators that has come together for this project.
14th September : Eminent academic Mainak Biswas will give an audio-visual lecture on Satyajit Ray’s interpretation of Bibhutibhushan.
